My projects are as unending as my blogs, but let me list a few handy ones.
STEM ACTIVITIES:
Host Engineer at the Engineering Careers Evening-Thursday 3 October 2013
A networking event organized by the Energy Institute (EI) on Thursday 3 October 2013 to promote engineering as a career option to local VI Form students. I was part of a team of host engineers from varying stages of careers and engaged students with guidance support on subject relating to Gas Turbine Technology & Applications.
STEM Ambassador at the Career WorkOut Event-Wednesday 10th July 2013
At St Pauls Catholic School, Milton Keynes, it was a great session to introduce the world of work to students Year 10 (14/15 year olds) and to help them think about different career and learning options. The aim of this workshop which was designed for small groups of students in a 8-10 minutes sessions was to give students an understanding of employability Skills: (Self-management, team work, problem solving, business & customer awareness, functional skills and positive attitude).
Volunteer at Sieve MK -On-going Project
SIEVEMK Gateway is a charity dedicated to bringing hope to Milton Keynes communities. They connect with local women and disadvantaged young people, and run programmes that engage, train and provide necessary skills and opportunities to enter work or further education. I assist with material development for training and workshop, especially on topics relating to studying and personal development. Check out for the Life Skill Advantage Module, and future STEM challenges for young girls.
FOOD BANK PROJECT-May-Sept. 2011
In 2011, I developed Welwyn Hatfield Foodbank, a food initiative for local people in crisis in Hatfield.
About the FoodBank
A few years ago it would have seemed improbable that a food bank would be needed in relatively prosperous Welwyn Hatfield, how times change. This development highlights the increasing inequality, and growing gap between rich and poor, both globally and locally here in Welwyn Hatfield. With the major changes to benefits entitlement yet to come in 2013 it seems that business at the food bank will be increasingly brisk for some time yet.The food bank for Welwyn Hatfield is located in Howardsgate, Welwyn Garden City. Its location is poignant, being in the building of the former Job Centre and right beside the Prezzo restaurant. It is located inside and operated in conjunction with the Fountain of Life Christian church. The bank is open from 11:00am-2:00pm on Monday and Friday and access to the food is via a voucher which can be obtained through social services or care workers locally (Source: WH).
